The Rains

The surface of the water is captivating in this piece. The shapes created play nicely against the texture of the drowning leaf. Also, the reflection of the surroundings and what's beneath surface combine to create some interesting pools of color and atmosphere.

It might have been nice to see the entire leaf, but the slight cropping does not take away from the image's power. The colors on the leaf are interesting, too, especially where the water has covered it and begun to sink it. I especially like the small wave created by the leaf. It gives a sense of delicate yet obvious collision.
