I got a kiss at midnight from a cute boy
WHAT A NIGHT.
My friends and I decided that we wanted to do something for New Year's Eve. Originally, we were thinking about watching the ball drop in Times Square just because we've never done that before. We've lived in NYC our entire lives and have never even considered doing this, haha. But then we really thought about it and decided that watching the ball drop probably wasn't such a good idea. We would have had to get there
super early to avoid the crowds and then just stand there for hours in the cold and crowds. Plus, what would have happened if one of us needed to use the bathroom? Haha.
So we decided that a club was probably the best idea. The only problem was that most clubs were 21+ and most of us are 20. But I managed to find a club that was 18+, so we all bought tickets.
I was super excited about our plans for New Year's Eve, mostly because I've never actually gone out on New Year's Eve. I have a
huge family and when I was younger, we'd always get together. But as I grew up, my family got even larger so it got harder for everyone to get together, so I'd normally just spend New Year's Eve with my parents (I'm an only child). I love my parents, but now that I'm older, I wanted to spend it partying or something, haha.
So we all bought our tickets and had everything planned. I made dinner reservations for that evening before heading to the club. My boyfriend and I even went shopping a couple of days earlier and I helped him pick out an outfit. He
hates wearing dress clothes, but I somehow managed to get him to buy dress pants and a dress shirt.

And we were all excited about New Year's Eve.
Then the evening before New Year's Eve, I got a text from my boyfriend saying that he felt like shit and was "too sick to even get out of bed". My eyes bugged out of my head when I read that because everything would have been a disaster if he had cancelled. A couple of our other friends had already cancelled because they were sick, and if my boyfriend had cancelled, chances are, I wouldn't have gone either because it would have just been weird to be at a club without him.
But by some miracle, I got a text from him at 3am on New Year's Eve saying that his fever had broke and he felt a little better. And the next morning, he texted me saying that he felt much better and that he was going to make it to the club. So our plans were back on! Unfortunately, one other friend had to cancel because he was feeling sick too.
So, we all meet up in the afternoon on New Year's Eve and headed out to dinner.

I made reservations at an Irish restaurant that we had never tried before. The food was delicious.

After dinner, my boyfriend stopped at a liquor store and bought us a bottle of vodka so we'd have something to sip on on our way to the club and then we were on our way!
The club was in Times Square and the crowd was
INSANE. I've never actually been near the area during New Year's Eve, so I had no idea the crowd would be this bad.

This was taken right after we got out of the train. That glowing, pink blob is the ball.

First time I've ever seen it in real life.

Since the club was in Times Square and the entire area was closed off, it was a bitch getting to the club. They had certain checkpoints where they were letting people in only if they had proof that they were going to something in the area. After slowly walking through the massive crowd to get to the checkpoint, we waited on a line with other people trying to get passed the checkpoint only to be told that we were at the wrong checkpoint and that we had to go all the way around the barriers to get to the right checkpoint.
Oh, and did I mention that it was absolutely fucking freezing? Because it was absolutely fucking freezing. I had a coat on, but underneath, all I was wearing was a mini dress and very thin stockings.
So we ended up having to walk about ten blocks to the other checkpoint in the freezing cold. But we managed to make it there, we got to the club, and finally got in. It took us about two hours from getting out of the train station to get to the club which was only a few blocks away. But it was worth it.
We partied for hours and now my thighs are killing me from all the dancing.

Here's a shitty cell phone pic of my boyfriend and I.
All in all, I had a wonderful night and I spent the day watching the Honeymooners marathon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
