Usually this type of photos doesn't catch my attention immediately. It's maybe just a matter of style and taste. But well, it wasn't the same with this photos. It's different!

The first thing that caught my attention: the tones. They just fit so well, that dark blue (i'm not sure though) gives an amazing mood for the photo! As well as the nice contrast and main presence of blacks in the photo.
Also the light on the tip of those "plants" was just in place to put them in beautiful focus.
Second, depth of field is beautifully done, and the bokeh is just amazing here.
Composition wise, I couldn't think of a better one, it's just well done.
A cliche? I don't think that's one! It's very well done, and a good job made here!
