How incredible would it be if those tracks had gone on in a straight line forever? A photographer's dream :D Wonderful sense of perspective in any case!
The muted tones of the image enhance the nostalgia. Very effective.

lol - your misty lighting is similar, but your drama is relatively subdued.

I still don't get what you're trying to say. What does the Hudson School River have to do with my photo?

I mean that as a sincere compliment. First of all, you have a similar, beautiful kind of light. In addition, your photo expresses to me some of the same soft, semi-mystical appreciation of nature relating harmoniously to human development that was characteristic of Cole and his followers, but without the overbearing drama and sappy religiousness that makes much of what they did a little hard for us to appreciate today (i.e., defillibrated). That's the impact and spirit of your photo for me, well expressed because it's an attractive piece of art.

You probably had none of that consciously in mind when you made it, of course. Just the intuitive spirit, which beats the logical analysis any day.

Amazing. I thought the tracks were beams of light at first; they still resemble light, I think.

Excellent. The tracks themselves look similar to the ones we have hear for non-electric (diesel) freight.
