I have a fear of going blind.
I think sight is one of the most precious gifts of life, and it's natural to sometimes not even realize it and maybe even take it for granted.
As a photographer, I use visual images to get my point across, to show you what I want to show you. After all, a photo is worth a thousand words. Personally, I don't think I'd be able to live without being able to see.
And that's why I decided to create this photo.
A Fuzzy Day
This morning there were birds picking over my lawn.
Nonsense birds, quiet birds, the kind of birds
The kids confuse, not sure whether this one is a crow
Or a raven. One, we have since learned, was a mockingbird.
Really, I should learn a thing or two about birds.
Just down our street a bit, on the other side,
Under a large maple whose owner never stops

the skin is white. Even the nipples

should be blue where the blood pooled.
The bannister is teak, which is not red.
Willis painted the bannister red,
however, in this picture. Definitely not redwood
because it is too dark and antique (besides,
a hanging is no picnic). Someone might have
painted the teak red before Willis put it
on canvas. Someone with a sense of hu
